Important 2004 Bond Referendum
Citizen Information
Fairfax County residents will be asked to approve four bond issues on the Ballot totaling $291 Million on November 2.
They include:$32.5 Million for Human Services Facilities
$52.5 Million for Public Library Facilities
$75 Million for Parks and Park Facilities
$165 Million for Transportation Improvements and Facilities
$291 Million Total

About the CommitteeThe Budget and Taxation Committee monitors Fairfax County's spending and taxing policies and conducts a review of the County's Annual Budget. Elected officials and County staff are invited during the year to meetings to discuss relevant issues. The Committee works with the Education and Youth Committee to prepare a position on the County Budget in March each year which is then presented to the MCA Board for approval. The MCA Board's position is then presented as testimony at the Board of Supervisor's Budget Public Hearings in April. The Committee also drafts resolutions to present for MCA Board approval as needed.The Committee meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM at the McLean Community Center unless otherwise announced. |
