About the Committee
The McLean Trees Committee
differs from other MCA Committees because its members earn money through the
sale of newspapers collected for recycling and the Committee has the
independent authority to spend those funds. Members also help collect papers on
Saturdays, plant and maintain trees along roadways, in parks, and around
paublic buildings, schools, churches, shopping centers, and other facilities,
as well as in the central McLean business district.
The Committee requests that
McLean residents bring their newspapers to Cooper Intermediate School where
they maintain their recycling bins instead of taking them to other locations or
leaving them for the County to collect.
The Committee meets on an ad
hoc basis as needed. |
