The Tysons Corner Liaison Committee (Committee) is a special committee approved by the McLean Citizens Association's (MCA) Board of Directors at its September 5, 2007 meeting, in accordance with Section 6.3 of the Bylaws. The Board extended the Committee's Charter at its July 7, 2010 meeting. The Tysons Corner Liaison Committee's role is to act as a liaison between the Board of Directors and key stakeholders, e.g., appointed and elected officials from Fairfax County and the Town of Vienna, county staff, state government officials, nearby civic associations, members of the press, and Tysons Corner landowners and developers, with respect to matters of interest to the MCA relating to the implementation of the revised Comprehensive Plan for Tysons Corner that was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on June 22, 2010. The Committee recommends policy positions to the MCA Board of Directors. advocates for policy positions set forth in MCA resolutions; and communicates positions and findings to the stakeholders identified above; and Additionally, the Committee examines issues related to supporting public facilities, fiscal matters and implementation requirements, including any impacts on the McLean community. Since many issues such as funding and implementation of the changes to the Comprehensive Plan for the Tysons Corner area have not as yet been acted on by the Board of Supervisors, the MCA Board of Directors decided that the Tysons Corner Liaison Committee should continue its work into the future, until July 1, 2013 or as determined by the Executive Committee. Other MCA Committees will be involved with Tysons issues such as schools, taxation, parks, zoning and transportation, but this committee will coordinate those efforts and ensure MCA's views are presented in conjunction with the surrounding communities.
